As of (Sep 1, 2023)
Working Hours
- Employees must come into the office for the work day or take time off
- Work-from-home is not allowed
- It is encouraged that employees live within a 30 minute commute of the office (located 5 minutes from Stanford University).
- The work day (in-office working time) is defined as 10:00am - 7:00pm PT
- Employees should be generally available to respond to messages on weekend
- If an employee is late to work, they should be early by the same amount the following business day. For example, if an employee is 15 minutes late to work, they should be 15 minutes early the following business day.
Time Off
- PTO is accrued at a rate of approximately .329 hours (120/365) per day. For example, if you were employed from the period of January 1 to June 30, you will have accrued approximately 59 hours of PTO [180 days * (120/365) ≈ 59 hours]
- Holidays (as detailed here) are the only potentially no-work days (ie. no need to come into the office). Some caveats below.
- For certain holidays, for which employees will be notified in advance, employees will be required to come into the office as it pertains to business activities.
- If, on a federal holiday, Li or Stephen will be in the office, an employee can chose to come in to the office for a full day of work. This will grant 1 extra day (8 hours) of PTO in lieu (not counted towards the 5 days (40 hour) per quarter cap).
- Each employee gets 15 days (120 hours) off Paid Time Off (PTO) per calendar year
- A maximum of 5 days (40 hours) of PTO can be taken off per quarter
- Half days (4+ hours PTO) should be requested and recorded by the hour
- Paid sick leave will be considered PTO and is subject to the same PTO restrictions
- When taking time off:
- Record time off in Gusto
- Proper written request in advance and explicit approval by manager (Li Jiang) is required
- Alert Stephen and teammates in all of the following ways:
- Make a post detailing the days off in the “harmony bay area” chat on the closest Monday prior to the start of the day(s) off
