Straight Forward Draft (Short)

Traditional web based solutions follow the domain name service (DNS) method of mapping an IP address (192.0.2.44) to a human readable domain name (www.amazon.com). Blockchain-based solutions follow the crypto name service (CNS) method of mapping a web3 address to a human readable address. Whether you are sending tokens from one wallet to another or you are connecting to a decentralized application, CNS allows you to navigate all your web3 needs easily.

One of the most popular CNS is the Ethereum Name Service (ENS). After registering your ENS your wallet identity is now linked to the human readable address that you registered. Similar to traditional web based DNS, this registration has an expiration. An ENS is not a top level domain and searching (example.eth) will not bring you to a website, but searching in a blockchain search like Etherscan will show you the paired ethereum address.

Another popular service in the blockchain industry is Unstoppable Domains. These domains follow the same CNS method, but unlike the Ethereum Name Service, are also searchable domains on brave and opera, but not on chrome or safari. Unlike traditional web domains, unstoppable domains point to an interplanetary file system (IPFS) link. IPFS is a decentralized system for file storing, websites, applications, and data. These additional steps have made it difficult for Unstoppable Domains to achieve the coveted mass adoption.

Enter Collectible Domains.

This is a radical hybrid between the traditional web domain we are all used to (.com,.org,.ai) and the new form crypto name service (.eth).
